Today was the day

Today was the day that 16 women have been praying. They've been praying that God would provide them with other means of employment. They've waited for a chance to provide for their kids, without the embarrassment. Today was the day that was met with weeks of anticipation. Today, 16 prostitutes made their first pieces of jewelry. This jewelry is so much more than a paycheck. It's the chance to start over. It means their kids can eat. It means they can start saving to move home to be with their families.  Today was a day of hope. While the money brought hope to many, the real hope is still being revealed. Some of these girls have no idea that the hope they've been seeking can be found in Christ. That's exactly what we want them to take away from this program, a deeper relationship with Christ.

Over the past few weeks, we put in many long hours of trial and error to perfect the jewelry. All of that work was worth it when I saw their faces light up. They were proud of themselves. They held their heads high. They have something to believe in again. I ask that you join in praying with us as we continue to develop friendships with them and that God would just reveal his greater purpose.
