Fun day

So today, we let the cooks have the day off. We planned a super special day for them. We asked them to arrive at noon for a celebration. Us interns decorated the eating area and made them fun like things.  They all showed up wearing their nicest outfits, it was precious. We ordered them special meals that were definitely a treat for them. We set up a silly photo booth and we had them all take pictures. It was such a fun time. They loved their time and kept thanking us. Afterwards, we took motos to the big market. It was quite a fun ride and we found stuff to make pizza sauce. We had a huge pizza making party most of the afternoon. It was such a refreshing day.  There are tons of silly photos from today posted on Facebook.

Thursday, we went to Port de Paix. Us girls ended up having to throw together a devotion, but it all worked out. We gave all the prisoners sa pi bons, popsicles, and they were pretty excited. From there, we went to the brothel. We played a silly game with the young boys who now live there. They had to do their best dance moves. One boy hiked up his shorts like Steve Urkel and then began to dougie. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. Melonnie played Jenga with them and each turn, they had to say what they were thankful for.

After the brothel, we found the ice cream man. He just randomly walked up by our truck, it was the greatest sight ever. Best five Haitian dollars I've ever spent.
