Groups final days

Sunday, my group was scheduled to participate in deaf church. However, none of the deaf community showed up so they ended up doing church with the Miriam center. All of the children had instruments and were playing along to their own tune. It was so cool because despite the chaos, they were worshipping God in the ways they were physically capable. The moms led singing. One of the men preached a sermon for the kids. I was reminded that despite any physical limitation God is still praised. One day, those kids will be made whole and new. Today, we did hut to huts. We were able to give way Toms, which was a blessing to some who can't afford shoes. One home we stopped at was a voodoo home. They knew about Jesus but wanted nothing to do with him. In Haiti, they don't believe in coincidences. So I pointed that out to them, we weren't there by accident. God sent us for a specific reason. After visiting and praying with a few more homes, we started to head down the mountain. I heard someone calling my name and looked over to find Daya and his family. He used to work group security and his wife was a baby orphanage mom. The past few months and have a huge struggle for them. They have also taken in some nieces because their dad died. They never said they were having problems but I could just tell. After we left, my group asked if they could go by groceries for that family. So we headed to the market. We returned with the bag of food and the whole family was shocked. All they could say was thank you over and over again. It was so neat to pour into them because they have poured into my own life so much.
