It is Well

Sorry for lack of blogging the past few days. They have been very busy and tiring. We traveled to Ansefoleur, a huge voodoo town, on Friday and spent some time praying in the temple. We had our annual intern egg fight that night. It was a blast and we got several of the interpreters involved. Saturday, we traveled out to La Baie. The bridge to cross the river isn't finished yet and the water was flowing very quickly, so we had a bulldozer pull us through. We got to see all the toddlers that moved from St. Louis to La Baie, which was great. We took this little boat over to a remote access beach, it was absolutely gorgeous. There is a several caves there so the first boatload of us decided to climb in the cave and hide from the others. We spent time hanging out with each other and some of our Haitian staff--so fun to watch them swim.

Today, we had church. It's like a glimpse of heaven. They got so into at one point they were shouting and dancing like crazy. I love to see the passion in their hearts and how excited they get to worship God. I think we get so lost in formality or expectations that we forget what worship really looks like. PB, one of the girl translators, got up and sang It is well. She sang in English and Kreyol and you could just tell that she meant what she was singing. As one last staff bonding time, we had a barbeque on the beach. It was fun and the food was delicious.
