One month

I've been here a month already! It's crazy how time flies. It's also the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death. Not that I'm a fan or anything but it's so ridiculous how people make such a big deal out of it. Do these people not realize that over 25,000 kids die a day? It's frustrating that people just push aside that fact.

Today, all of the groups left so we got to sleep until 8 and have a day off. We pretty much spent it in silence, since that is hard to come by these days. The morning all of us used to just spend time with God and debrief from the madness. This afternoon, we painted one of the last bungalow's for the baby orphanage. Me and Katelyn spent two hours hanging out with the kids. One of the groups taught them to do this kung fu number. The kids were going crazy and doing this whole karate fighting thing for a good two hours. One of the nurses took the chickens (which are for dinner tonight) and was chasing the kids with them. By far the most entertaining thing I have ever seen. The kids were laughing and running like crazy except one kid who was paralyzed with fear.

The same cook that we got to bless with the money for her dad's burial was talking to me today. She kept calling me her "ptit fi mwen" which means her daughter. It's cool to thank that our little interactions during meals have made a difference in both of our lives. It's crazy to think that our whole relationship started because I said "Mesi pou manje" one evening and ever since, we talk everyday. Moments like these help me to remember why I'm here.
